am i getting ripped for tranny rebuild?
they said for an after market sycrno and bearing kit $575, and 250-300 labor to rebuild it. they said it was 1400!!!for factory parts
the reason i dont want to get another one is cause this is a m2b4-jdm lsd tranny, and there hard to find and i dont like buying other peoples headachs, just wondering if this is a normal price on a rebuild

btw the price sounds normal of a tranny rebuild. $300 is almost always the labor when it involves pulling transmission..
and the parts sound normally priced

oh wow..
your MUCH better off getting a used tranny dude. then you can have a 30k mile transmission AND have money for clutch/flywheel!
putting a tranny in = eaaaasy!
and i believe this is my last post for the day..
stupid newbie crap.

so im the newbi, even though my original post says why i dont want another tranny. you find me another m2b4 for 600 bucks and ill buy it. besides if you do, how do i know the condition or miles, this way it is new...and i already have a 10 lb flywheel and stage 3 clutch, as well as many other things...just wondering on the prices compared to others thats all
perhaps if you looked over to my avatar and saw that im on a "trial" account you'd recognize that i'm referring to the fact that i can only post 5 messages, and 3 of them were posted here. Which is why I said if you ask anymore questions, that you'll have to wait another 24 hours for a response from me.
anyhow
You can transfer your clutch and flywheel to another transmission easily.
If you want to pay 1500 for a rebuild, go ahead.
You CAN order JDM transmissions, or get one from a junkyard, 90% of them will tell you the mileage and year of it.
I just picked up a 96 H23 tranny from a friend for $250 who swapped in an h22
They're not difficult to find at all, http://www.thepartstrader.com
look through your local trading post
you DO have to do some of the work yourself, I cant point you right to a tranny in your area

yea, thats cool, i am doing all the work myself...the tranny in my car is a longer geard one, and im only paying 875 for the rebuild, so i guess im getting out best i can
no, that sounds about right for a rebuild...BUT it's easier to just buy a used one not to mention less expensive. as long as the synchros are good you shouldn't have any problems with the transmission.
