2000 gsr over reved
hello honda tech...the other day i was racing my friend and when i was on 3rd instead of putting into 4th i threw in to 2nd and over reved it..now my car is telling me theres a misfire on cylinder 2 and 4..what do i do???
-someone told me to change the distributor?

what happend? my wild *** guess is bent valves. start with a compression test, if that checks we'll go from there. make sure you disconnect your distributor before you do a compression test.
doesn't even matter if you do it cold, you're looking for the numbers being out of wack. 180ish is normal warm, cold it's less. if you see one cylinder 50psi down or more you have problems.

A dude I raced did the same thing and his 3rd cyl had ZERO comp.

same thing happened to me, bent about three valves lol, rebuilt the head and presto! gsr was running meaner then ever
..and if you rebuild the head...get dual vavle springs, will help incase it happens again.
