Clickin' N Knockin'
08 Civic EX Coupe Automatic, 50K, Certified Used Car from Honda dealer.
I have had this vehicle about 2 months and have noticed two noises that are aggravating and alarming. The aggravating noise sounds as if it is a lifter clicking....I hear it when I am at idle. It sounds like a light tapping and sometimes goes away. I can't hear it while moving.
The second noise...the alarming one....sounds almost as if it is a rod bearing or piston pin. On light and constant acceleration under a light load I can hear the noise. Could this be some emission or exhaust noise?
Anyway I am getting it back to the dealer next week and I wanted to get some opinions from you guys and guyettes. Thanks in advance.
Note: I'm driving my pickup until I find out what's up with the noise.

The sound could be from the timing belt tensioner. One of my mechanic buddies told me to pray soapy water on the belts for any belt noise. I put a long screw driver to hear where that rattling noise is from and I can't figure it out. I tried adjusting the valves but no change. The sound is more erratic and not harmonious with the motor. Is the piston pin noise a rattling noise?
