the car use to be an lx, then there was a motor swap and the guy i got it from said it wasnt another lx motor, it was another x but didnt remember which...

how do i tell what motor and head i have? i wanna do mini me soon

wheres that located on block?

 

right next to the exhaust manifold.. it should pointed upwards so u can read it.. if not clean it..it should a flat square suface on the block

 

umm theres ZC and a bunch of numbers, doesnt say d16y7 or 8,

maybe im lookin in wrong spot this is down and left of exhaust manifold,

can u clarify better location plz?

You're looking at the right thing.

You drive a Civic LX with a ZC swap.

ZC is an engine code just like D16Y7 is. The ZC is a Japanese engine. I'm not especially familiar with it so I won't try to get into specs, but I understand that the specs are similar to a D16Z6/D16Y8, which would be about 125 hp and 107 lb-ft.

 

ok next question is how do i identify the head? to as its right one? and what year is this thing and is it possible that my cars idle is out of wack and throwing idle air control valve codes cause i still have lx ecu???

 

A ZC is already VTEC. You cannot do a mini-me on a block that already has a VTEC head on it. If you have doubt look for the VTEC solenoid.

 

ok so the car was a 96 civic lx auto trans before...

he put a 92-95 zc block in there....

it still has stock 96lx ecu in it and trans...

how much power am i missing out on haha???

 

actually ZCs are not VTEC but they are strong motors you can do a mini me on

You should already have a P28. Maybe you should check that out?

or is what ur sayin is that i have a p28 with 96 lx and that its just not wired in correctly right now?
