2000 ITR #0001 came on the same trailer as mine. Came SOOO close to getting it, but it went to the dealers son...probably trashed by now.

If I list a VIN number can you guys tell me what number the car is?
Nope, I don't think so.
Hmm....I think the 98's ITRs came with a certificate of # of production. Which may related to the Vin#. But the 00+ never came with a certificate.
[QUOTE]yes i have

some people got that certificate for their '97's, however some dealerships did not send them out to everyone. Also for '98's a very few people actually got that certificate. I got one when I bought my R, however I had to ask a friend who works at another dealership to get me one. I think the certificate is just a blank form and they fill in the blank with your VIN and badge number.
But yeah the type R number has no corrolation with the VIN at all. Honda just slapped the badge number on as it came off the line without any real record of the number given. (Of course this is all to our knowlage, yet if you ask Honda of Japan, Honda of America, etc... they will all back that up and say that they have no record of your badge number.)
