Default d15b8 w/ dpfi help!

Hey guys, I got a d15b8 with the dpfi on it from my old d15b2 that I pulled out of my 89 civic lx

It has started and i ran it but ran ruff and and wont start all the time. Seems like 1 of the 2 dpfi injectors went working correct? I can unplug 1 of the injectors and it will still run kinda smoother no power when driving, and when I plug the 2nd injector in bogs down and seems to be running really rick and seems to miss fire.

Any ideas? I put a new water pump and t belt on before also. The b8 motor has low miles.

Yeah there is a cel now after I swapped in the b8. I don't have a something to check which cel it is. Timing should be fine

Pull back the carpet on the pass side where the ecu is a count the blinks of the red led on the ecu. A long flash= 10. a short flash=1. Example 2 long flashes and 1 short flash is code 21. Find out wat code you have and let us kno

Take out spark plug number one witch is the one next to the timing belt stick a long screw drive or extension down the hole turn the crank with a socket and ratchet find tdc by watching the screw driver or extension once you see its at its highest point stop then look at the cam gear the arrow on it should be facing 12 o'clock meaning stright up. If that's all good its set right

Yeah I did that when I had the motor out when I replaced the t belt. I feel like its something with the dpfi

Nobody even noticed that it's a B8? 8 valves of air doesn't = 16 valves worth of air.

Yeah I know its an 8v vs. the 16v b2. But didn't think the dpfi wound give to much fuel though

B2 DPFI manifold and ECU on an 8 valve head, think about it. A B2 is basically the same thing as a B7, a B7 is basically a B8 with 8 more valves. They have their own respective ECU's for a reason. Being that a B2 and B7 should (in theory) use about the same air and fuel amounts, what do you think would happen when you take away half the valves?

ok, after that im thinking of just doing the dpfi to mpfi conversion and use the b8 stock intake manifold. with that i can still use my stock dpfi harness just modify it and the ecu plugs? so would i need a obd0 to obd1 jumper and use the b8 ecu?

thoes codes are from the dpfi though. if i switch over to mpfi they will go away if i do it correct. So with the mpfi conversion can i still use my dpfi obd0 dizzy and ecu?

No you can not use the obd0 dpfi ecu and dizzy it won't work. Esaithe go obd1 or stay obd0 and use a pm6 ecu and obd0 si dizzy

ok cool. I have the ecu for the d15b8 and the motor/injector harness and stock intake manifold.

So if i went obd1 i would need a jumper harness at the ecu for the obd0 to obd1 swap for the b8 ecu?

which way is easyier and cheaper to do in your opinion, stay obd0 and get a mpfi obd1 dizzy or go over to obd1 with the ecu and etc.? so do i need a resistor box for the injectors either way i go?

Probly be cheeper to go obd1 since you got the obd1 ecu. Obd1 injectors all you will need is the. Obd1 dizzy and jumper harness. Also if you go obd1 you do not need the resitor box. If you stay obd0 you will need to buy a pm6 ecu. obd0 si dizzy. obd0 injectors and resitor box.

ok cool,
i have the d15b8 injectors too. ok ill be on the look out for a obd1 dizzy, does it matter from which motor? b7, b8, z6, vtec, nonvtec etc?

and i already found a obd0 to obd1 jumper too!

so which write up should i use then to do the dpfi to mpfi harness swap since i wont be using the resistor box?

Use the b8 dizzy. And my right up tells you how to wire the injectors with out using the resistor box all you do is connect all the power wires togeather to 1 wire and run it to pin a15 on the ecu plug

So I did most of the mpfi wiring tonight, tomorrow I gotta finish up the ecu and loom the injector wires so after I will finish the rewire for the obd1 dizzy also.

After that's all done what plugs do I use for the b8 intake manifold cuz the dpfi harnass is still there?
