A couple weeks ago i bought another crx. On friday i finally set life aside and decided to start tearing into this car, first things first was wheels, so i put my rotas on. Now the d15b2 was "rebuilt" meaning covered in spray paint just wasnt enough for me. I had a jdm d15b laying around so why not. I also started a full wiretuck besides fuel lines and brake lines. Soon to come is some kimo and paint!!

tomorrow ill finish the engine harness tryed some de-pinning on the black clips today not working to well for me. Im going to mess with it tomorrow and get it running, hopefully i can start on some of the body work

i tryed out some clear coat on the pass side but i like the flat pink so i might sand it back down and respray that side

 

liking ur crx that motor should feel pretty good turbo it! lol

 

yeah im going boost probably next month i have a evo B16g i was using on my cb7. im in the middle of building a turbo gsr crx for a buddy also ill get some pics up of that. just couldnt stand rockin someone's mess anymore

You should have removed the headlights though. Overspray sucks.....either way looks like a nice start.

I have never seen someone paint the plastic intake tube, funny for sure.

Flat pink on a red car just makes it look like a really faded paint bay

 

most of what you see for overspray is just a pink dust wipes right off, for the rest some thinner will clean it up. I got the engine all wired today, for the injectors i built a subharness from the jumperharness that was i was not hacking up the factory ecu plugs. The p28 i order showed up today and is a p0b, awsome, not. Also the car is getting painted white

swap and got the harness on the engine, i forgot to take some
pics. all thats left is obd1 throttle body and my p28 should be

nice would of sprayed a diff color how r u doin ur wireing u just buying jumpers ? did u paint the tranny an block

 

WTF...

 

no i ran all my wiring, pretty much made my own jumpers besides the obd0-obd1 jumper harness i did clean up and paint engine and trans. i see alot of people getting on here seeing someones car, going out to the garage and copying what they see, i have yet to see a tucked pink bay. kinda got delayed my buddy wadded up his integra pretty bad so ive been helping him, going to shoot the car a white with green pearl just going to be a longer project than i hoped for.

 

i also started putting in my patch panels, i did get them glued in and fiberglassed ill get some more pics tomorrow.

so finally got the driver side quarter panel finished. Needed alot more work than id hoped for i will be laying the paint this weekend, gloss white with with purple pearl mid coat.

heres the rust mostly cut out, i didnt get any pics of the rest cut out with the POR-15

also started on the driver door which had 3 huge rust holes, couldnt find a door so i cutout metal, fiberglassed, duraglassed and got some filler on it.

 

u do pretty good work ima body man an painter was curious also on ur quarter panel did u weld in new sheet metal or just fiberglass then filler . i have a 90 crx project of my own but im doin the blackwidow 12 piece body kit an nuthin even near fits ima have to do so much of my own fabircateing but i cnt complain bc i got the whole kit on craigslist for 250

 

I actually had some of a replace quarter panel left over from my buddys turbo gsr rex, i used panel glue then fiberglass, duraglass to fill in any deep low spots, try to keep bondo or filler for glazing. But i would to the same with the body kit, either glue or rivet it onto the car and fiberglass it together, however ive noticed over a couple years the rivets back out and start to push through the fiberglass.

 

Finally i finished the paint on the rex today. 2002 Toyota super white with purple pearl mid coat, shopline clear.

Im going to be putting the car back together tomorrow so ill get more pics of the car in the sun if it doesnt rain. Sold my wheels oh well, a set of white rota track r will set the car off

thanks man got alot of time and money into the paint, spent more than i wanted to but its worth it. I put down a little more pearl than average which gives the white a "cream" color due to the tint of the mid coat, but the purple pearl in the sun will look good.

nice crx. When i saw the d engine i said "oh nice" when i saw the B engine i said "damn, how come this guy drop the d engine when hes gonna drop the b series" But i scrolled down, and no. you didnt. lol

 

nice man. good thing you're good at doing body work. i'm not so i'm just gonna be replacing a whole lot of body panels.
