Default sup my boys need tranny help again

since we all know from previously my tranny casing is screwed on my 1995 was damaged so its unsuable. but the internals are mint condition no grinds and work perfect.

I'm buying this GSR transmission with a grinding third gear the owner says for 250 to my doorstep.

I'm wondering what the best options here would be.

swap my internals into his case and throw it on my b18b1 or swap some of the internals and fifth gear into the gsr tranny and use that?

question: would my internals fit the gsr case and work with a complete swap.
another question: i can mix and match internals and gearings to make a GOOD tranny right?

both are hydro trannys.

all the bearings in my b18b1 tranny are new. so i was thinking swap al lthe bearings, and the syncrho for the third gear since i think its the synchro thats damaged and the fith gear to save fuel milage.

what do you guys think, any suggestions?

Cases are the same. You can't use the LS 3rd gear syncro IIRC. You can use the LS 5th though.

Pretty much yeah. As I recall you'll have to shim the mainshaft.

Iv been there only because i didnt want a tranny case with no vinn so i swaped internals from my race tranny with ls case to my gsr case, it cost to much and they didnt get it right so i would sugest just finding a used good cond. gsr tranny with no grinds you can get them for $450 all day, you will end up spending that much anyway and will have less issues. while your at get a jdm lsd gsr tranny! or if your gonna do a internal swap drop a lsd in there! i know you will daily the car but a lsd would be a good upgrade to any tranny getting cracked open!

Get a new 3rd gear Syncro for the GSR, and swap over all the bearings. You will have a pretty much new GSR tranny. Everything is interchangeable but 3, 4th Gear. And throw an LSD in there. Thats what i would do. If you know what your doing of course, If not just get a working GSR trans for like 450.
