Default problems cold starting my 2002 cr80

Today I just put on a new pair of bars on my 80 after not riding it since summer. I decided to try and start it up and it would not go. I took the seat off and sprayed some carb cleaner/starter fluid into the airbox. It started up right away after that but was screaming. It sounded like the throttle was pinned but it wasnt stuck i tried to shut the bike off using the kill switch, but even then that didnt work. I eventually had to pull the top piece from the spark plug. anyone have any ideas on why this happened and what i do now? The back of the bottle says may cause rough starting or hard idling, but i did not expect that to happen

sounds like you have a bad seal around your throttle body. there's no reason it should have been screaming like it was getting a lot of air. i would have said the throttle was open if you hadn't already checked it.
