Default No compression when downshifting

Hi, im new on here and i dont know if i posted at the right place so sorry I bought a 95 civic DX but the motor is a 2000 D16Y7. I ran a compression test and got about 185-190 on all 4 cylinder! My question is : When downshifting i dont feel the compression like it should but my test was 190 on all 4 so could it be that my test was wrong or could it be something else! You know the feeling when you downshift and you feel the car really slowing down? It almost doesnt do it except for third to second gear!

Test results sounds rather high. And how do you "feel" compression? That's a new one on me.

Do you have an abnormally high idle speed?

This would explain why you don't feel "compression" when downshifting. Set your idle speed to spec.

Are any CEL codes thrown?

Any CEL codes? If so, post them.

Also check whether the throttle cable is adjusted too tightly. It should have about 1/2" of free play. Also check whether the throttle body is dirty, which can cause the throttle plate to become stuck partially open.
