Like many others, I was contemplating buying the Schley Bushing Extraction Tool for $150 and decided to stop by my local Autozone in search of something less expensive. I measured the outer bushing case wirh my digital caliper and it measured roughly 76-78mm.
I found a 1/2" drive Bearing Locknut Socket for $20 which measured 76mm and gave it a try. I sprayed PB Blaster around the outer edge of the bushing and let it soak overnght and the next day went at it. It came out in lesss than 3 minutes!
I will be using the same socket to install the new bushings when they arrive from Majestic and wanted to share this truly economical method of removing the bushing. Enjoy!
PS. I did remove both TA completely since I'm redoing the entire suspension on my 93 Civic hatch so this method might not be as effective if the arms are attached...
