Default Stuck in limp mode. Possibly the ECU is at fault?

im hoping someone can help me, i just bought a 94 civic coupe 5 speed with a d16y8 swap, the engine is vtec but does not engage, it redlines at about 4k, doesnt have tach so i dont know for sure...i was told the ecu in the car isnt for a 5 speed but instead for an auto....but the car drives fine other than not cracking vtec and having a very low rev limiter....so could the ecu alone be the reason it redlines so early and doesnt crack vtec?

It could be. Have you taken a look at the ECU yet to check? If you are unsure, let us know the part number on the ECU and we'll be happy to help.

Click CEL in my signature.

And I think a P06 ECU is for a D15b7 non-vtec engine not a D16Y8 vtec.
