2000 Integra GSR. Getting Tein H Tech and Koni Str.t shocks..Expected Drop and Camber
Hey so I'm going to be replacing my suspension on my daily driver.. Its a 2000 Integra GSR. I've done some research and asked some questions and i've come up with the best setup for a decent price is going to be the Tein H-Tech springs and the Koni Str.t Shocks.. I want to know what I should expect as far as drop F&R? And what I should expect as far as Camber Issues.. This is my daily driver so I'd like my tires to last as long as possible.. The car needs Shocks, and if i'm going to be spending money on them I figured why not make it ride a little better... I dont want something that is going to be a hassle, (fast tire wear, and having to watch the road like a hawk when i drive).. I've had lowered cars in the past and they are usually a pain in the *** to drive, So the website says that they should drop it about an inch but I want some personal experience with them, and how much your car actually dropped and if you have any camber issues.. I'd like to order these in the next day or so, so any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks!
2000 GSR owner here. Camber won't be an issue. Read the stickied thread in this forum on the issues that most camber kits for our cars cause. At "tucking tire" height, I still only had around -2.6* of front camber, and mild lowering springs won't go any where near that low.
No personal experience with the actual drop of those springs though.

Hey man thanks for the response.. I have read that sticky before but thanks... I mainly want to know how much the drop is because it's my daily driver.. Which means it gets driven any and everywhere in whatever weather there is.. So if there is 2-3 inches of snow on the ground then its going out.... I just dont want it to be too low to have to worry about not being able to drive it in the snow, and having to try to avoid speed bumps etc... thanks in advance for anyones input/help! I'd really like to get this ordered and on the car so please speak up!!!
i've read different things on different sites that sell them. One says its about an inch all the way around, i've had another site say that it drops it 1.6 front and 1" in the rear.. I just wanted some people who had the springs already and really know how much it dropped it to give me some input on what their experience was... I dont mind something that is going to drop me about an inch but i dont really want anymore then that..

Just curious, how have you decided upon H-Tech springs if you're not exactly sure how much they will drop the car?
BTW Tein USA lists H-Techs as dropping 94-01 Integras by 1 3/4" up front and 7/8" in the rear. This tells me the car is going to have quite a noticeable rake with more fender gap in the rear than up front. My old H&R Sport springs did the same thing and it drove me nuts. Thankfully my Koni Sport shocks allowed me to get a little extra drop in the rear.

I chose them based off of the spring rating, I had posted a thread a couple months ago and it was suggested by a couple of different people to use the h tech's.. I have since done some research on them and had decided that the spring rating was what I wanted.. The thing is I dont want a 1 3/4 inch drop out of them.. thats why i'm posting this up asking what people have experienced with them... a couple of the sites where you can buy them says that they are about an inch of a drop f&r... I have read that on other cars (not integras, but hondas/acuras) that the drop wasnt what was listed on the tein site, thats why I posted this up, hoping that the same went for the integras and hoping I could get some people who have them on their cars to chime in and let me know what their experience was with them.

Bumping this thread because I'm looking into the same set up for my new DD, a 98 LS.

This is the only pic I have of the H&R Sports after initial installation, before adjusting the rear Koni spring perches. It had like 1 finger gap up front and 2 in the rear. The rear arches are already smaller than the fronts so this made the rear jack points something like a full inch higher than the fronts. It looked dumb as hell IMHO.

This looked so much better:

Pats right...After market springs are almost sure to give you an uneven drop unless you have struts w/adjustable perches.
If your concerned about drop and even-ness (just made that up, reads horrible...but you understand what I'm getting at) why not just stick w/OEM ITR springs/Str.T combo? .75" drop FTW

Thanks for the help
So I decided to go with the Tein H-Tech springs and Koni Yellow Adjustable Struts. The car sits pretty nice.. Pics coming tomorrow!
^ Wow, that's a lot of rake. Be careful about scraping the front bumper on driveways.
it's not at all, it's the angle of the pics. it's fairly even with a stock like rake. my guess is the gap between the top of the tire and wheel well is about the same in the front and back. a lot of spring sets tend to "even out" the car which is completely wrong for the way these are setup, it promotes even MORE understeer. tein copied the itr springs with the s and h tech & just added 15-20% and kept the height relation the same. single best move a spring manf could do, they didn't try to change what worked
Looks good, might be a little too low for me though. How does it ride? What "level" perch do you have the springs sitting on? There is 3 of them correct?

The Gap is fairly even front to back.. The back might be a little bit higher.. Havnt had the car sitting level and measured them yet. As far as the rear camber, its negative not positive... I think its just the way the pics look, I stood there and watched the whole alignment get done, The front has like 1.6* negative camber on one side and like 2.1* on the other.. The perches are on the middle I belive ( I kept them where they came from koni) It does sit a little lower then I wanted but I like it, It looks really good and Rides good too. I have the shocks set in the middle right now and so far so good...
