Default Coming Back To The Ep Fam

Hey Guys, Im coming back to the Ep3 Family. I miss my ep. Ive had efs, egs, crxs but i love and miss my ep the most. So im buying one again. But i got a few questions. I havent had my ep for a while but dang there are some dope ones in the ep3 picture thread. Well thanks everyone.

1) Avid or Innovative Motor Mounts? (I couldnt find Hasports)
I am either gonna be putting a k24a1 or a2 with rsx-s 6 speed tranny.

2) What shocks to use if i use lowering springs? 2.25in drop springs.
Should i buy a master bushing set and replace them all?

3) How much weight saved total if replaced hood & hatch with CF?
Im gonna be using a Carbon Fiber rep mugen wing.

4) What Coilovers gives the most drop and most reliable?
I was thinking BC N+ or Function and Form?

Thats all for now. Thanks everyone. Much appreciated.

1) Pretty sure Hasport makes DC5/EP3 mounts actually.

I personally like my Avids because they look better than Innovatives and I really like the design of the passenger mount unlike the others that keep that weird sunflower design like the OEM one.

2) People will probably tell you Koni Yellows. But I personally like full coilovers even though the ride is a bit rough because it basically ends up being just a little more than a shock/spring combo (depending on brand)

3) OEM hood doesn't weigh that much more in my opinion, but I don't have either or so I can't really say

4) I thought you wanted to do shock/springs?

Yeah i was thinking about shock/spring but also have to keep in mind coilover could be better for what i want. Im looking to roll on 15/16s rims and want to be pretty damn low. So if i cant get the height i want with springs, coils will be my only option.

I also like the full coilover setup such as Buddy Club or BC's, but I ended up getting a real good deal with my GC/Koni combo and it is for DD, so I only went 1.25" drop with very soft setting.

As for the weight of hood, the real good quality CF is not that much lighter than OEM hood, maybe less than 8lb ish... For example, my VIS XT version CF hood has inner frame that closely resembles the OEM one which makes it very sturdy, and because of that, it feels like it's almost as heavy as OEM one.

Hope that helps.

Ok yeah I took the hood off once by myself and it was super light. But the hatch will make a difference don't you think?

Anyone got some pictures of their car dropped on 2.25 springs and 15 or 16s?

if you want to drop that low go with the Megan racing coilover with straight arm... that will solve the problem with the LCA having retarded angles and the steering creak!
