My power window stopped working a few weeks ago. After doing some research online, I determined the motor/regulator needs to be replaced. So, I followed the online instruction to remove the door panel and tried to replace it myself. However, I am facing some situation that is unusual.

The window is actually stuck in the top position. So, I can't reach the bolts that hold the window through the 2 holes on the door (I don't have another 2 holes near the top in my car, either). From other's suggestion, I should unblot the regulator so that I can lower the window and reach the bolt. However, the window just came down about one inch and was not enough.

I also tried to cut the cable. But the only cable I can cut is the lower cable in the regulator. the upper cable is blocked by the window holder. And the cable connect to the motor is covered by some metal rings and I don't think I can cut.

I am wondering if anyone has idea what I can do in this situation to remove the window from the regulator. Please give me some advice. Thanks a lot!
