Default Window regulator?

The rear passenger door window, on my 03 Sedan started making this cable binding sound when I raise the window. I took the door panel off to investigate, and the cable that raises the window glass was loose on top of what I assume is the motor. The cable was still connected, but it, along with the spring were loose, not tight like the other cable. Is this fixable, or am I looking at regulator replacement in my future?

You may want to cross post this in the (non-model specific) Tech section.

Regulators are hella pricey. So I'd say wait until it officially dies. It shouldn't cause damage if you wait. A window isn't something vital to the running of your car. Pick your battles, yo.

I had the same problem on my Accord but it was on the rear left window. At first it started to make the same grinding noise you described. And so I removed the window regulator and the cable was stretched out. I tied winding the cable back. On the regulator but that didn't work. So there is no way of fixing them. The only thing you can do is to just replace it. And yea it is expensive to replace. The best thing you can do right now for the window regulator is to not roll the window up and down as much un tell you can get a replacement regulator assembly.

It's going to work out just fine. I'll order the regulator, and the reimbursement for the recalled power steering hose will pay for it. I changed the hose last year, so I should get my money back for it. It actually cost $10 more than the regulator. Thanks for the heads up on the regulator.
