hiya. so i'm looking to pick up an oem strut for a 93 del sol s (sohc d15b7). my sister is very fickle and decided to keep it.
so i have a few quick questions, lemme know if i miss anything.

-i was informed all civics and 94-01 integra oem bars will fit my del sol.
-also as for install. i would need 4 bolts, washers, nuts (because hardware is not included). would i go to honda to get these bolts and hardware(if not what size would i get from a hardware store)? (i don't have a garage or am i that mechanically/tool saavy).
-also i have read that i should remove my wheels and jack up the car to get under it to screw on the bolts? is this necessary? (i still have the factory weather stripping and underbody plastic gaurd thing).

alrighty thanks in advance (again). sorry for the newb questions, like stated in my other threads, i'm new but i have high aspirations for my honda

You can reuse your factory shock nuts (top) as that is where many shock tower bars mount. You should probably have your car on the ground, as having it in the air may allow the shock to drop down to the point where you can't access the shock mount studs in order to install your strut tower bar.

 

are you asking about a strut tower brace or a strut?

oh, sorry. it's a gsr strut bar. what size bolts would i need? 10mm? 11mm? i called honda and they said it didnt say just gives pricing and part #

 

I believe you can use any style of bolt and nut as long as they fit through the holes where the gsr strut bar goes, and they aren't too long. You will need to reach up under the wheel well and push the bolts up through, and then attach a nut. Good luck!

 

I believe the OP is referring to the GSR strut brace bar. You can use 10mm nuts and bolts. If you don't already have the four holes pre-drilled, you can drill them out yourself. There will be two indentations on each shock tower location.

 

yep. thanks. and one question about that. i recently picked up a 1997 civic dx. that didn't have the wholes pre drilled. is it possible to just drill them in and install the bar? or would i be better off getting a type r bar that goes above the shocks. alrighty thanks again!
