Icon2 Vtec Question

Ive got a 96 lude Si just put in a 97 JDM H22. doesn't have a vtec pressure switch which I'm told is not uncommon. I'm going to be running a down grade harness for an OBD-1 ecu. Am I going to throw a code for the missing pressure switch???

WOW! 38 of you have looked at this post in less than 24 hrs, yet no one can give me any help? I just recently got back on Honda-Tech for a sec i forgot why I quit coming on this site. Oh yeah, cuz instead of coming together as honda drivers to help one another out, the majority of the people on here spend all their time tearing others down and talkin to them like their Duh-Duh-Duh F@#$ing idiots! To those who are willing to help with my previously asked question, I thank you.

well im sure this question has been covered before on HT and people are probably wanting you to use the search bar.
but!
yeah you probably will throw a code once you get into the upper rpms but i doubt it will be any trouble for daily driving. it would be a code 22 i believe.

Thanks for the info. Sorry for being too incompetent to think about using the search bar (No sarcasm intended)

If you're using a JDM P13 ECU then it won't look for the VTEC Pressure Switch. Otherwise if you're running a USDM P13 or some kind of P28/P72 chipped ECU then yes, it'll look for one. My JDM H22A didn't have one either til I got myself a USDM H22 VTEC Solenoid. An F22B1 VTEC Pressure Switch work as well.

My brother's JDM B18C GSR came w/o one while he has a JDM P72, and it didn't look for one til he threw in a P28 chipped ECU, luckily, I knew it was gonna do that when he converts to OBD1 so I pre-wired the harness a VTEC Pressure Switch so he read online that he can just tap that wire to the VTEC Solenoid wire and yes it worked after he did that; no more CEL and VTEC finally engaged with the P28 chipped ECU.

If you're solenoid looks like this, then you can just buy one and screw it in

If its like this you'll have to drill and tap
