Default Crv Civic suspension compatibility?

Hey there. I've been doing a bit of research and from what I gather crv and civic struts are compatible? The only info I was able to find was someone wanting to lower a crv using civic coilovers. I actually want to do the oppisite, I want to raise my civic for rally cross. So could someone please let me know if this would work and if so, what kind of ****ed up stance it would have?

p.s. It's nice to finally find a forum not full of riced out 1.6 liters that are "HELLA FAST DRAG RACERS". On most other honda forums it seems as if every post is about someones sweet new fake carbon fiber this... or awesome new decals and body kit. Thank you.

All the mounts should be the same, but I would imagine the CRV struts would be longer...might want to check an aftermarket shock/strut manufacturer and compare dimensions.

crv struts are about 2 inches longer. and teh rears wont work on a civic unless you swap the lower control arm to a type R one.

how about some regular coilover sleeves? buy some longer springs (7 or 8 inch, instead of the usual 6 inch spring that comes with kit)......with the stock shocks i think your kind of limited though. the CRV shocks have the same amount of travel as a civic, just the mounting points are moved 2 inches up. so if its travel your looking for...im not sure. if its just a lift your looking for, i suggest coilovers with custom springs.

id agree with this...^^

coilovers w/ custom springs so you could try out what specs you need for your rallyX
civic.. coz if you use a crv's strut-its longer and there will be dampening issue.. crv is
heavier than a civic or you could use an adj dampening struts-koni, bilstein.. then an
extended top mounts.. on the rear shocks, as what said.. you could switch to a typeR
lca in order for you to use a ball type shocks..try to look into the accord lca if it could
fit...

idk of you wanna experiment..... imo, cheaper set could be a stock civic suspension or
upgrade to a gas or adj. dampening, ebay coilover sleeves?? then custom coilover springs,
you could contact HnR, swift- i used this in one of my set up, eibach ers- bought a set
for my other suspension set up....
anyway whatever would be your decision..
G/L!!!
hth...

OP, go for the oem crv struts. they are longer and will give you the height and travel you are looking for.

now as far as aftermarket ones like k sport.. i can't tell you i imagine they are shorter. and if you do go with crv struts you'll be stuck with factory valving, but it may be acceptable on the lighter chassis

My rear coil springs are soft,I'd like to know if I can use the honda civic ek front springs on the crv rd1 shock absorbers on the rear?

Hi we have a 2006 1.8 civic that just finished a charity endurance race in a field, stuck some muddy tyres on with some 16s which gave us a bit more height and it did very well car survived (3/4's of entrys dont survive the race) and came 3rd we did loose one rear spring and the rear axle looks a bit worse for wear but Im after very cheap reccomendations to get as much height as possible we need a new rear spring so thinking of chucking on some second hand crv suspension front and back to give us height as the field gets very rutty or is there other options, cheers in advance
