Default SiR or EX brake setup?

what all is needed to fit the SiR knuckles to my 89 lx sedan? would the benefits of these knuckles outweigh the simplicity of swapping on the EX knuckles? I can get either knuckles just need to know which are a better setup

i believe that the brake caliper on both models are identical. you are probably better off using the EX knuckles due to the SiR knuckle requiring a different outer tie rod. the EX knuckles would be a straight swap. imo for simplicity sake use the EX knuckles that way you wouldnt have to source out SiR outer tie rods.

only #20 need to be cut if you use the SiR knuckles. no matter how much you adjust the tie rod you will still up with a toe problem. toe in i believe. ??? cutting some of the threads off will allow you to get more adjustment bringing the back of the tire closer to the center of the car putting the tires parallel with the car

come to think of it you might be able to just cut the tie rod but i am unsure how much of the threads will be left inside the tie rod to screw onto the steering rack. it'll be a lot easier replacing an outer tie rod than it would be to replace a rack end (#20) plus its probably cheaper. try it out and keep us updated.

how are they a combo of both the EX and DA? don't they use the same sized rotors and caliper combo, 10.25" rotors and 17CL14VN caliper which would technically make them identical besides the curvature and geometry of the knuckles themselves?

i would go with the EX master cylinder since they are both 15/16 and you dont have to swap out the booster. using the DA one will require you to swap out the booster to a DA one also because the mounting tabs are different from one another.

Id be using the corresponding brake booster as well. so EX or DA? also theyre a combo of DA and EX cause they are bulkier than the EX spindles and have DA wheel bearings but have EX components

I have used SiR. Can you even find the parts?

I had trouble getting the SiR Brake booster assembly. Some one in Canada had it it was RDH **** was opposite. I knew it was a good part becasue i could clearly see the Size of the thing compared to the old.

I was "sold" SiR knuckles as well and not sure if thet are SiR becasue of the not that was made about the cutting of tie rods. I dont recall cutting mine?

Maby i have LX being that there is so many. Bit my BOOSTER and all is definatly SiR.

I used Integra DA rear drop ins and had pressed in my own new stuff. all hardware on the Civic stays and any DA or LX would toss. so leave up the stuff thats keeping the current ones on. I had purchased all high performance brake pads and slotted rotors for the rear and have not had any problems yet.

Its hard to find true SiR items. If you can get them go all the way. I did
