Yeah, they can copy the signature of your one key onto a new key. I did it just the other day.
How much does it run for a replacement key? I need to go make an extra one.

I wonder if you can make infinite keys? Like have 5 for the same car...Wouldn't that be dangerous?

Why would you want to do that?

What if a thief wanted to steal his own car back? He would have ALL the info he needs...

Do you have the tag with the key info? It's a 4 digit number tag that Acura uses to make new keys if you happen to lose them all.

I'm guessing it won't be cheap to get these keys made considering that you have an immobilizer chip.

No all I have is my original key. I don't have the tag with the key info on it.

well where i live some of the scumbags that would steal your car work at the dealer or have access to the peoples they need to know to get one.
so my suggestion is to not take your car for service at the dealer. if you must take it then try to find someone you trust and let them and only them work on your car. for my sake i had an airbag recall on mine and decided to go warranty the headlight as well. well i happen to know one of the master techs there. he owns a type r and shares the same love for it that we do. i know he is a descent person and is only trying to take care fo his family and make money. so i take it to him, request him to work on my car, and only let him work on it and ask him to not let anyone around it or to not give any info. to anyone else who might work there. him feeling special to be the only one trusted to work on the car every tech wishes to work on takes care of me.

now if you want to be extra sure no noe can scam a copy of your key is to simply change the lock. i know this is costly but i dont know how costly it is. i have been thinking about it and am planing to do so in the fututre. alot pf people say that would be pointless and if a theif wants your car he get it, yes that is partially true. if i can defelct 2 potential theives from stealing my car its worht the money to me. i prefer to spend that extra, than to loose it to my deductible for my ins. if and when my car gets stolen.
