Default b16 cable tranny

hey what up guys, i have a question.... my B16 tranny is not good anymore and this guy is selling me one but it doesnt show anything were is says its B16 how could i know if its a real b16 and not an LS tranny,
apreciate your help

they can be hard to tell apart...but i will tell you that if it's a jdm tranny, you have theses options..

- S1
- Y1
- YS1

not sure if J1 was a b16 tranny, can't recall

the ys1 came in usdm cars too, but in "two" different versions

- long geared LS version
- short geared GSR...this would be the one you'd want

yes the J1 was a B16 tranny i have one on my gsr ef, low geared and perfect for me...

but this transmission dooes not have any sticker that will sow what kind it is.... is there any other particular sign?
i just want to make sure its a b16

well idk if this goes for all of them but the little stem thing that the speedo cable goes to looks completely different on my s1 then my old ys1 ls tranny its just one little hole on my s1 i miss my ys1 to be honest

you can also just tell him let you test it first then you will buy it cause alot of people like to sell bad things especially if its on craigslist

ok now i know its an A1 tranny
somebody knows in what car did this trannys came out? i just want to make sure its not off an B18 non vtec engine

if it came off a B18a1, it's an LS trans, unless they put on a B16 trans. Buying used transmissions is a bit of a gamble. best bet is to have someone with you that knows how to work on transmissions so that you can take it apart to inspect it and to count the teeth on the gears to be 100% positive. if the buyer is unwilling to let you do it, pass on it.
