Default changing header and exhaust

Hey i was wondering if it's easy or difficult to change the header and exhaust in the ITR after it has already been modded. example if someone has already installed j's racing header and exhaust and i want to switch to mugen, would that be difficult, or as easy as a simple swap of parts? thanks

why switch to mugen???nothing wrong with j's racing unless you were just upgrading piping size....but then even if that was they case why not just go down to a local exhaust shop and have them install any piping size you want. I did that using a 4-2-1 header and 2.5" piping to a stock muffler and it was around $140. So much cheaper that way, and you can have them weld in a flange @ the axel back so you can change your axelback to a different maker or style w/ ease and only need to do a lil wrenching. Buying full exhaust from local shops or online is flat out a waste of money. Just my .02 cents. Good luck

Because its my dream to own a mugen ITR

well, that and the mugen twinloop sounds soooo sexy. I dunno if j's racing 4-2-1 will work with it though. I think he has a t1r test pipe which i dont like as much as mugen. Yeah i am preferring the sound over performance on this one.

This is like asking if installing aftermarket wheels keeps you from putting OEM wheels back on the car.

I don't get it. Why would you not be able to install a different header/exhaust?

If anything, it should be easier. I don't know where you live but the fact that you have newer-than-original parts probably means that you have less corrosion and rusty fasteners. You can do it all yourself with a jack, jackstands, and simple tools. I also recommend spraying down the relevant nuts and bolts with penetrant oil ahead of time.

Though you're probably better off keeping it as it is. Having a Mugen header doesn't make your car a Mugen ITR.

If you want a Mugen ITR in this day and age, get ready to do some long searches and pay big $$$ for Mugen body items.

The Mugen mechanicals are still somewhat easy to find (some still offered new), but the body parts certainly aren't.

I didn't know if certain oem parts fit 100% or needed modding. Also many people value bone stock itrs so much more, I thought it was for this reason, ie the engine bay was modded to fit certain parts, drilling, etc. Thanks everyone for the info, cant wait to build it just the way I like.

How do you fit an elephant in a fridge?
open the fridge door, put the elephant in the fridge and shut the door.

and how do you fit a hippo in the fridge now?
open the fridge door, take out the elephant and put the hippo in the fridge and shut the door.

it's the same concept as above
