help with mini me!!

Default help with mini me!!

hey guys, i have a eg that i wanna do a mini in. i got a d15b1 block and a d16z6 head. i have all the stuff that came outta the bay originally(d16z6 stuff ans it has a hole in the block) and a complete d1b motor. so what all am i going to need, parts wise/what will i have to do differently that just puttin the head on the block and puttin it in like i would be a z6, like what will i have to do differnt??

also woul di be able to use a y7 ecu? my harness and p28 ecu got stolen

basically what you said plus your gonna need the p28 ecu and an adjustable cam gear, or a Y8 cam gear.

you CANNOT run a y7 ecu. 2 reasons, its non vtec, and its OBD-2

but IMHO mini me is a waste of time and money, been there done that wasn't happy.

why does he need to run a y8 or adjustable gear? its not like he trying to use a y8 or different cam in the head.

because the deck height of the d15 is shorter than the d16. the timing will be off by 1/2 tooth. y8 cam gear is designed to advance the timing on the y8 a little, so it can be used to correct the timing on the minime, same with the adjustable.

i did a mini me like 4 months ago i had a y7 and i did a y8 mini me big difference it just all depends on how much you pay for the parts i got everything ecu dizzy spark plugs and wires head cam valve cover intake mani TB literally everything plus he thew in an si tack everything for 250$ and the head only had 120K on it so it was all good and worth it for me

The adjustable cam gear makes it a lot less frustrating. You can always send your current ecu in to get it chipped, I sent mine to phearable.net and it worked out fine.

You're better off just getting a b18, you'll be glad you did.
