Sudden CEL, failed attempts & need help rectifying
3 days ago driving around normally, the car had what felt to be a "miss" for a very brief moment. Original thought was that the throttle was in zone between closed & just open, but 1/2mile down the road the CEL came on & I pulled into a parkade close by in order to ensure all was visiably ok. The car is currently built as follows:
B18B
High comp wiseco's
Eagle ESP rods
ACL bearings
Stock head
Stock cams
37820-P06-A51 chipped ECU (tuned on Crome)
I have done the following:
Tested TPS and swapped out
Swapped out IAT
Swapped out MAP sensor
Erased & re-burnt 28-pin ECU chip
Now, once you switch on the car to "AAC", the ECU completes & pre-check before startup.
Now the CEL has decided to remain illuminated permanently. In a normal case, the CEL will switch off once the 'pre-check' is complete & correct.
I am at a loss as to what could be causing the the CEL to activate before startup & remain as such. On cold startup idle is around 800-1000rpm, however, at operating temp the idle is closer on 1700-1900rpm.
The car is my daily drive & I am really stuck with regards to where the above problem could be.
The harness used to check ECU codes has not been found on my vehicle after a lot of searching. Is there a way to get CEL codes directly from the ECU, rather than the original harness?
I have searched to no avail & am completely dumbstruck as to the issue currently... desperately looking for assistance please!!!

Good news! Managed to finally find the ECU "jumper" wires O.O
The green rubber casing with the "jumper" was hidden all the way behind the interior fan. Almost stripped the whole dash out to find it - lol
Error ended up being code 6 (ECT fault). Went directly to the ECT sensor & found a break in the wiring inside the plug.
Plug repaired, ECU reset & all in working order again!
