So I recently swapped out a dx trans from my 96 civic and put a ex trans in ... So I take it out for a spin and it's running pretty good I start going into higher Rpms and it started making a noise .. So I turn back to go home and I hit a stop I put it first and it doesn't move .. I let go of the clutch and gas while in gear and it doesn't move or stall out . If u know anything to help I'd really appreciate it .. I'm not sure if it's the tranny . I'm really hoping it's Just an axle ..

 

Check the axles. If anything major happened you'll see it when checking (i.e. diff broke).

If they're good, put it in 5th at a stop, rev it up and let the clutch out. If it doesn't stall, replace the clutch.

If it stalls, pull the trans out to inspect it.

 

Shouldn't it stall out even if a axle was broken ?

 

No. If an axle is broken it will rev.

I did the 5th gear thing and it didn't stall out , it's weird because it reads my speed it says I'm goin like 50 but I'm sitting still . And gears went in and out with out pressing the Clutch

 

You have an axle or diff problem then.

 

Yah it is .. My axle keeps popping out and making a really loud High pitch grinding rattling sound when I put the axle back in and turn on the car ..
