Default Water pump = FAIL

Do you have to removed the entire engine to replace the water pump? or could i go through the wheel well after removing the shroud? engine is a jdm H22A.

Get the Helms manual if you dont have it. But as a quick overview, you need to take off the valve cover, timing covers, drivers motor mount(the on that attaches to the block), crank pulley, balancer shaft belt, timing belt, and empty the coolant out of the block and radiator.

I know how to do it the hard way removing the motor. I just wanted to know if i could do it removing just the drivers side wheel shroud. I know you could do it on some hondas, but not sure with a lude.

You don't have to remove the motor but you might as well replace timing belt, balance belt and all oil seals while you're in there. Easiest way for the pump is with the car in the air and drivers wheel off going through the bottom.

You can go from the wheel well. No need to remove the engine just to replace the water pump. I'd replace other things mentioned above me.

Lol I never said to take out the engine. I did this work recently and told you the basics of what you have to remove to access the pump
