Default 97 crv oil pan gasket

I need to replace the oil pan gasket on my 97 crv. Is it possible to just remove the cover on the tranny to get at those bolts, the engine cover, and that's it or do I need to remove the exhaust manifold to get it out? It almost looks like it might clear but I'm not exactly sure. Thanks!

It's not going to clear the manifold no matter how hard you try.

Take off the three 14mm bolts on the b-pipe (lower manifold)
Take off the two 12mm nuts/14mm bolts and springs that hold the b-pipe to catalytic converter.
Remove 14mm & 12mm bolts that hold two brackets between engine and transmission.
Remove 2 10mm bolts that hold flywheel dusctover on.
Remove a bunch of 10mm nuts/bolts on the oil pan
Change gasket
Reverse order for reinstallation.

Total time: 20 minutes with air tools, 60 minutes with hand tools.

Replaced it, still leaks. Crank shaft seal maybe? Its coming from the drivers side of the oil pan. Any idea how much this would cost to fix?

Did you use an aftermarket or OEM oil pan gasket...?

when you cleaned/removed the old oem gasket.. did you noticed the small metal
piece left from the oem gasket?? its on the hole where you put the bolts on..
ive seen several peeps not minding that, even if you have a new gasket that might
cause the leak....

Does anyone know what the recommended torque is on the sump pan bolts?
My sump had a small leak and I noticed a few bolts were a bit loose, I know from past experience you shouldn't tighten sump bolts too tight or else the gasket gets compressed and starts leaking.

Answered my own question, the service manual says 12Nm for the 6mm oil pan bolts, I was searching for "sump" but the Honda manual calls it an oil pan, doh!
Just for interest sake the Oil drain bolt's should be torqued to 40Nm.
