So, the usual thing around here is to take out the ABS systems in our cars and just run a manual brake setup. I've heard that the ABS in 90-93 tegs are first generation technology, and not very good overall, especially when compared to the systems in today's cars.
But, this is all through forum topics and random postings... Could it be that people are just saying this stuff to justify ripping these systems out to reduce weight and free up our valuable engine space? If I were to retain the ABS, and get everything working properly like new, would it be worth the performance difference?
Part of it is the fact that it's a 2nd gen gsr, also... I want it to perform every bit as good as when it was new, even though im going to be modifying the crap out of it, which would mean fully retaining power steering A/C, and ABS.
Any thoughts? Anyone else rebuilt their ABS system? Would this be much better over manual brakes?

I'm having a similar problem as well.(1990 DB1 GS) My ABS pump started chirping very loudly when I would drive in first gear at low speeds. I did some search and found out that it was due to an internal leak on the system. I changed the modulator for a used one. The constant chirping went away, but it still chirps every once in awhile, especially when I take off in cold weather. Since I replaced that I never had the ABS system properly bled with that special tool.
So when I slam on the brakes and engage the ABS the pumping on the pedal is really slow. No codes. Now I'm working on finding a used #11 and #4. Then have the abs system bled at the dealer. I really would like to keep all my ABS stuff.
For me personally I like to keep everything, I still have AC,PS,and cruise control.
Does anyone know if that ALB checker can be purchased somewhere?
