Default 97 acura cl trans issue

anyways heres my problem,

i have a 97 acura CL v6, the trans was bad, so i got a transmission out of a 99 accord, and everything bolted up right, and it runs and drives fine, except one plug, and it goes to a sensor on the side of the transmission, and theres no place to put my speed sensor, can anyone tell me what this thing on the side of the trans is, and a way to wire my speed sensor to it?

or possibly if you have all data, post a photo of which wires are for what. thanks

Some of the older transmissions have a plate and 10mm bolt covering the area where the VSS "should" go. Check it out.

the trans came out of a 99 accord v6. theyre both j30a1 cars. i figured the transmissions would be the same.

it has a hole where the vss should be, but its not a hole. lol i thoiught it was filled with ice, but its not, its solid metal.. i dont understand.,

well, theres gotta be a sensor that reads the speed somewhere on this thing, probably on the 10 wire male plug i done have a female for.

im just asking if anyone knows which wires do what on the "TEC" sensor. that way i can wire up my vss to it.

On the transmissions without a VSS. The ECM interprets speed from the countershaft speed sensor. Hope that helps you.
