  • Name: D. Lewis
  • Age: 28
  • Location: Birmingham, AL
  • Model & Year: 1997 Accord SE CD5 F22B2 Auto

I've had this ride for 8 years now and finally decided to have some fun with it.

Engine & Exhaust
AEM Short Ram Intake
F22B2
Apex'i N-1 Style Muffler w/ burnt tip

Wheels
18inch no name chrome rims (they were free!)

Exterior

Plum Purple (repaint; used 2 be stock dark purple)
Ebay Projection headlights( I know, i know!)
Euro Tail-lights
Clear Bumper lenses(NOT from Ebay!)

Interior
Pioneer DEH-3200UB w/ Bluetooth & Ipod Interface
-Pioneer 300W 6x9 Speakers(Rear)
-Pioneer 180W 6 1/2 Speakers(Front)

FUTURE PLANS:
1. New Wheels...probably going back stock

2. Touch Up Paint Job

3. Lowering Springs

4. Header

5. New Tint

6. New Lighting

7. Engine work---not really trying to swap; may just look at upgrading cam, valve train, etc.

Well that's pretty much it. Feel free to offer suggestions and criticism. I'm open. I already know my ride is past due for some upgrades...

Sup! FYI, that's not a F22B1. It's an F22B2 Non VTEC; F22B1s are VTEC motors.

Looks like a clean platform to start from. The B2 is much better than the B1 anyway... I see that you future plans aim more towards looks. My suggestion would be a mild head build w/a cam & valve train upgrade, F23 intake and a tune. That is if you wanted to give it a little bit more get up and go to go along with the show.

Good luck with your plans.

You're welcome.

I'd do OEM taillights with the stock amber removed; much cleaner look, get a set of JDM Depo Blackhousing headlights, OEM bumper reflector lights, and JDM clear front bumper lights. Thats what I would do if it was my Accord; just thought I'd give you some ideas. If you do all this, it will pretty much be a nice clean sleeper Accord.

Don't forget to look at Bisimoto's cams. They're cheap for F22B2 engines. There's a dude on Gen5 awhile back who did the Bisi Level 2 Non VTEC cam and made 130 something whp which is decent for a SOHC Non VTEC. Will pretty much eat SOHC VTEC engines all day with that setup. Lol.

It is the only real upgrade for a F22B1-2 intake manifold. Unless you want to build a custom intake manifold.

Here is a pretty recent DIY. DIY F23 Intake Manifold Swap (F22B)

that can easily be found out with the search tool but im not one to waste a bump

you can either remove the covers from the lights by using an oven and flathead screw driver. be careful if using this method the covers have a few clips on them and are easy to break.

or

you can get access to the amber pieces through the hole where the bulb goes. you will have to break/cut/slice the amber peice up and remove it with pliers this way. ive seen many people get it done.

whichever way you go the search icon at the top of the page is your friend

i did the f23 manifold onto my old f22b1. definitely worth the time and money and bolts right on. the iac is the main problem. i just cut the nipples on the iac like it says to do in the write up ghost posted. make sure to sand the cuts you make because if they are sharp they will cut the coolant hose. a throttle body spacer also helps move the tps out of the way a little more. i eventually modified my upper f23 plenum so that the ports on the plenum are switched allowing the iac to be installed backwards. but got hit by a truck and the car was totalled right before the install..

good luck and welcome

Man that sucks!

That looks like it's a mere flesh wound..... Guess it would be a total loss due to the age of the car and the cost to replace and paint the bumper being more than the insurance coverage.

If you like the car, I would find out what it will cost you to fix it vs what they will give you for it. If it's not in the cards.... let it go and move on to the next one!
