Does anyone have a picture of the SMSP custom B-pipe flange welded on the Type-R B-pipe???
Does anyone have a picture of the SMSP custom B-pipe flange (see picture below) welded on the Type-R B-pipe? I'm curious to see if the custom B-pipe flange fits over the stock B-pipe or if the B-pipe was expanded and custom B-pipe was fitted inside. Any information and pictures would be greatly appreciated. BTW, I did a search
.
Also, is the Type-R B-pipe piping single-walled or double-walled? I have had two muffler shops tell me that the piping is double-walled. The first muffler shop, initially stated that the piping was double-walled, but after further inspection determined it was single walled. Another muffler shop was pretty adamant that it was double-walled.

Fits inside. Stock B pipe gets expanded and the adapter fits inside.

what the heck is your avatar doing with that sway bar looking thing
. BTW, that isn't me.
That avatar is from an old grassroots motorsports magazine.
and yeah, muffler shops swear that the integra b-pipe is double walled. it isn't, though.

But the first muffler shop told me that stainless steel doesn't expand that easy and it could split. Does anyone know if that is true.
I think some muffler shops just don't want to be told how to do things.
Bret,
Take it to a Tuffy around Columbus. I have had good luck with the one on Brice Road on the east side as they do a lot of custom stuff. Actually, they were the one that took the restriction out of my stock ITR B pipe.

MD, in your article you state "you can purchase a tapered flange that is 2.5 in. outer diameter (OD) at the opening which connects to the cat and 2 3/8 in. (60mm) OD at the Bpipe exhaust end."
For the ITR stock B pipe the adapter has a 2-1/2" ID x 2-1/4" OD. Actually all the adapter for 2-1/2" cats have a 2-1/2" ID since the cat is also 2-1/2" ID.
BTW, H-T needs a spec/article section like you guys have at Team Integra.

Jason picked up 4 whp across VTEC when he had the Toda header, 2-1/2" Carsound and Tanabe RM. The Tanabe RM has a 2" OD x 2" long bottle neck.
SMSP,
What is the longest B-pipe flange that you sell? I have a '94 GS-R so the Type-R B-pipe is already 4.5" to short. I will loose another 2" when I remove the bottle neck from the B-pipe. And then add another 2.0"-2.5" when I get the B-pipe expanded. So I'm looking at custom B-pipe extension flange with a length of 8.5"-9.0" long.
Also what is the thickness of the flange?

I have been talking with a guy at Monro in Dublin and he has been very helpful. Today at lunch I bought a 2.5" exhaust flange at Jegs. I also printed a picture of the SMSP custom B-pipe flange and took it to the guy at Monro. He felt that the exhaust flanges from Jegs were not thick enough and they could warp which would cause exhaust leaks. He also recommended purchasing the custom exhaust flange SMSP since it appeared to have thick flanges, it has a nice smooth taper and it is stainless steel (all good points).
Only a handful of places around Columbus has SS. This Tuffy didn't, but then again they only charged me $15 total. Some Tuffy's do have stainless though. Beany's on the east side has stainless, but they are major pains because everyone there is stupid.

. Second suggestion, buy a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust from him
. Third suggestion, have him make a 4.5 extension for $85
. All around I wasn't impressed with Beany's.
The flange is either 5/16" or 3/8", I'll have to measure
I can probably do a 8" long adapter.
