need help with dpfi to mpfi swap
i have a 89 civic that i am doing the swap on. i have a harness from monotech that i'am using. the problem i'am having is the car turns over but will not start. it has spark and is getting fuel to the fuel rail but not past the injectors. the injector resister box worked on the my crx. but has been sitting in a parts box for 2 years also the ecu has been sitting the same amount of time. any one have any ideas.
Make sure your injector box is hooked up correctly the correct injector wires to the ecu and the from the ecu to the box all five wires. This is probably your problem 90% sure. NOT your main relay because your fuel pump is working. If this does not fix things then you'll have to try and clean the injectors and/or switch to a working ECU PM06 for a manual tranny. Please post more information about where your wires are going to the ecu and engine bay.

plug A
a1=#1 injetcor [brown wire]
a3=#2 injetcor [red wire]
a5=#3 injector [blue wire]
a7=#4 injector [yellow wire]
note:if you have a yellow wire in slot a3 and red wire in slot a7 switch them around.
mine were like this so i had to switch them.
plug B
b10= crank angle sensor [green wire]
b12= crank angle sensor [yellow wire]
plug C
left alone.
the jumper harness that runs to the ecu had 4 wires. the brown and blue for the injectors, and the green and yellow for the crank angle sensor.
i double checked and found that i had b10 and b12 backwards so i switched them. but when i turn the key it fires over the just dies and turns over like it's not getting gas again.
i'am stumped:
Man....is it me?, or is this the most common problem for us EF owners? I mean, I check in honda-tech every so often, and everytime, someone is asking for help for a MPFI swap. Even people out of state calls me every so ofter about it, just because i've done it once. All I did was follow the steps. Im not being mean, but, is it really that hard? If the car was running before the swap, it should be pretty simple. Just my $0.02.

About plug c. Being unused that is not true. C1 and. C2 should be depined and moved to b10 and b12. On plug c, c1 wire color is orange and should be moved to b10. c2 wire color is white and should be moved to b12. Now both c1 and c2 are emptey you add 2 new pins c1 should be blue/green and runs to the dizzy and c2 should be blue/yellow and run to the dizzy. Hear is a link to show you wat I'm talking about. This is wat I use to do my dpfi to mpfi swaps. Hope this helpshttp://hondaswap.com/swap-articles/dpfi-mpfi-writeup-49557/
This is by far the best right up I've ever come accross and yes it can become confusing if you are not familiar with your wiring harness or don't have any soldering experience or if like me and you got a mani with no hoses and dont know where all the hoses go to. There are alot of ways you can fail at this swap but its ok because thats what we are here for. It helps me if I write my own instructions before I start. This this website too. http://fourthgenhatch.net/mpfi.html I have failed at the swap but just keep trying... Are you getting fuel through the injectors.

Wait I just noticed something. Why are you using a harness from monotech rather than just running the 4 wires. Waste of time and money and its not working so are you OBD1 or what? Whats the reason for the aftermarket harness?
Terrible idea hahaha but as long as it holds youll be good. Please tell the guy you sell it to tho lol if you ever sell.
haha, i sold it, been gone forever ago. But heres the funny part, the guy tried to sell it, but during the test drive, it lost power and never started again. haha, I knew it was a bad idea! And i even told him about it. He did say he solder some wires, so it was probably his fault anyways. haha. miss that car!...

to make it run. got it running tonight but runs like crap so looks like i'll have to put the stock head back on.
thanks for all the help guys
i had a similar problem with mine after i did the MPFI conversion... check and make sure the original dual point injector wires that ran to the ECU are taped off. if they ground out, it will run extremely rough for a bit and die.
