Default suspension suggestions??

i know this topic gets brought up alot so please dont flame. i have an ap1 and i have spent alot of time looking at different suspensions but i cant find the answers im looking for. i can find the better coilover systems but some people judge them on their track perfomance and others on ride quality. IMO this is more of a personalized question. so here is my question/options...give me your opinion on them and feedback if you have them for the same reasons i want them.

my wants:
-i want to be able to go as low as i feel like going without modding/removing parts from the coilover that will hurt the integrity of it
-ride comfort (to an extent) i dont want something that will knock my teeth out stiff but dont want something that is bouncy/spongey
-budget friendly. im looking for some around the $1k range

i know its going to be hard to find one with all 3 but i want the closest one to my needs that i can possibly find.

I want a car that accelerates like a jet fighter, has an ice maker, heated/cooled seats, and is a bentley with a jet engine strapped to it. I also want 30mpg and a max cost of $2500.

Cliffs notes: coilovers in the 1k range usually suck. Depending on how low u go, ride quality will start to suck as a result of shitty suspension geometry.

Your best bet is a full body adjustable coilover. So no koni/gc. D2s and megans are meant to be installed in a trash can, but never on a car. Buddy club n+ might be your best bet.

yea but if i had to pay retail i would grab the buddy club over the flex's

as cheap as n+ r right now i dont even know if i wana buy my flex's back from my friend anymore cause by they time i get the new bottom bracket they will come out to be the same as a set of brand new n+ off of an s2ki sponsor. mind u the flex's that my friend had have only been on my car and and thats it and i got what i paid for them so i didnt loose any money hes willing to sell them back to me for 650 cause he changed his mind about getting n s2k

only advantage that i c that the flex's have over the n+ is that the flex's have upper pillow-ball mount.

i know that sounds stupid wanting all 3 but im willing to sacrifice a little cash for quality and a little quality for a budget. i guess you could say im wanting like the middle of the quality spectrum. i dont wanna go all out ballin' and spend like 3k but also dont want to get cheap coilovers that are ****.

i had function and form type1's on my integra and they rode amazing but there was no damping adjustment. thats the reason why i was looking at the type2's or type2.5's. to be honest i had my mind set on buddy clubs but i read on s2ki that they were spongey, but alot of people swear by them. just dont want a bumpy ride. the only 2 that i was actually considering unless someone posted up really good reviews on the others were the buddy club n+ and the F&F'S. i know from experience that F&F make good coilovers for a budget, and i have read quite a few good things on the buddy clubs. just kinda indecisive cuz $1000 doesnt come around for me very often lol

im almost positive that the n+ have pillowball mounts too.

according to jhpusa they do lol

"With urethane isolated pillow-ball upper mount design, engineered spring rates, 15 level damper adjustment, and ride height adjustment capabilities, the N+ SPEC DAMPER can accommodate any driver's preferences." -straight from jhpusa

idk for sure...just thought i had read that a few places. is the pillowball mount really worth the extra $$ tho?

My vote goes to Buddy club N+, currently what I have on my car. No complaints. Rides pretty good and Oregon roads aren't the sweetest. You can go low enough to not be funtional, if thats something you are interested in. Pretty damn cheap too.

pic of my car for reference

Lol...why does everyone love pillowball mounts so much for double wishbone suspension street cars? Most "pillowball mounts" arent even true pillowball.

I'd rather have stock mounts.

Haha yeah. I could see having pillow mounts on a macpherson strut or chapman strut car where u can change the alignment angles and take away the slop of the rubber top mount.

But they're a little useless on double wishbone/multilink cars. Unless its an ACTUAL pillowball that allows for shock articulation as the suspension moves up and down. Only the "track" versions of dampers have actual swinging pillowball mounts. Buddy club RSD, KW clubsport, Moton clubsport, etc for example.

For a street car, I'd rather not have the unnecessary harshness.

haters gonna hate.

that looks pretty good. i would probably want to go a little lower than that. how much lower can they go? just curious bc i dont want a coilover that will max out when you go so low. i had GC on stock struts on my integra then went to F&F type1's and i have them bottomed out and its about half an inch higher than the ground controls. i hate that lol. but the car looks good and i would be ok with that height. just need to get rid of some of the wheel gap cuz its killin me lol i wanna be able to tuck a little bit of the tire but still know i can adjust it higher/lower if necessary. thats what i like about coilovers compared to springs.

and thanks guys for the help. i know i sound picky and ridiculous. lol not trying to be just trying to decide which would be best before i drop $1k on suspension.

They can go a lot lower then that. I would personally be a little lower to, but I tried that and with our roads it just wouldn't work.

Heres a decent side pic. Although it is on a hill.

Coilovers just to go low? Just get GCs and be done with it. With the money you saved you can replace the bumper, exhaust and drivetrain you're going to beat the hell out of.
