The coolant (TW) sensor tells the ECU how warm/cold the engine is. Typically they fail in the 'open' mode, telling the ECU the engine is cold. As a result, the fuel mix is too rich. This causes flooding and a no start condition.
the ECU code is proof the TW sensor is going 'open' at times. Try hparts.com or manhonda.com for prices. Then call your local Honda parts dealer and ask them to match the internet prices. They do for me when I ask, or at least they get pretty close. BTW, it's under the distributor. You'll have to drain out a little coolant first so it doesn't run all over your engine when you remove it.

D16 ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor is interchangeable. Steel it off you old D-motor.

If your talking about the sensor on the back of the block its right near the oil filter. I changed mine on my b16a I was getting a code 6 too. It take like a 19mm socket to unscrew it and it has a little wiring harness on it that you unplug first then unscrew it with the socket and the ratched
