89 prelude won't engage in reverse.
New to this forum, but have read many threads and got some great advice, thought you all might be able to help me with a problem I have yet to find the answer to.
I have an 89 prelude 4ws si. It won't engage in reverse. 2nd and 4th have problems as well. I can put my shifter in the reverse spot with or without engaging the clutch, then it slides to the left, almost like it's in 4th. It doesn't seem to grab. I can also put it in 2nd and 4th gear without the clutch. I haven't done much, as my knowledge isn't very strong in this subject. I've checked all the fluids I can think of, none of them seem to be foamy, like air is in them. Do have a leaking power steering hose, don't know if that is related to maybe the gearbox in some form. I've tried to adjust the nuts on the shifter cables, but that only helped my 2nd and 4th gears. They seem to engage some of the time. They will engage when I'm driving. I don't know if maybe I have a transmission problem or maybe a clutch issue. I'll take any advice I can get.
