Hi,
I went to Napa today an picked up a nice 4 G ground cable to replace the stock onee that's worn.
When I removed the sock cable, I noticed it first attaches to the chassis then the tranny.
Do I have to follow this same route?
I went straight to the tranny and made a quick flimsy one from the tranny too the chassis.
Also the cylinder head to chassis one has a smaller cable that goes to the valve cover, do I have to replicate this?

Yes you need the ground from the tranny to the frame it is the ground for the starter and I would recomend Using 4g wire for that ground 2 if you used 4g for the ground for the battery. And use 6 or 8g wire for the valve cover ground it radiator support

 

Thanks. so I did this;
I grounded the tranny to the chassis with a 4g wire and the battery to that same chassis spot with 4g and then to the battery.
Forthe valve cover I bought another 4g and went from the head to the rad support.
I tried grounding it in the back on the driver shock tower for a cleaner look but the car won't start right.
I used some 10 g to make just accessory grounds to replicate the stock cable and use as a spacer for the head crown nut
Te ground cables I bought all have holes bigger than the nuts, I bought some nickel plated washers at Home depot
For the main battery ground get a nickel plated head *** tthe lead one won't work well on our cars. I'llpost pics latrer
