i have ef sedan with a z6 boosted engine..... the engine has 450 injectors from an eclipse turbo ....i know that the stock fuel pump will not pump enough fuel . So is there any other model fuel pumps that will work in its place or do i have to get a walbro.. ........ and is ther any DIY walbro pump install threads with pics for a sedan
Look out for the chinese fake Walbros...they look like exact copies right down to the caps, but they have plastic gears instead of metal and they're junk.
But yeah, a new Walbro 255 is the only option. The Integra pump is supposedly a little bigger, but not worth while.

I'm sure there is its not to hard tho. Jack the car up from the back place jack stands under car losen the bolts that hold the staps for the gas tank the tank should then drop down unbolt the bolts that hold the cover for the fuel pump to the tank lift the old pump out. Replace with the walbro and do the reverse order of wat I just said. p.s. less gas in the tank the easyer it is also use a jack to help lift and hold the tank in place to tighten the straps back up
Ya, unloosen straps... you got like 5 hoses / hardlines to unhook potentially because it won't let you drop the tank without tugging/getting stuck. Replaced my fuel filter last week.

Get the walbro how much hp do you plan on running?? I wouldn't use the stock Fuel pump for boost but I've seen some people that do but I personaly wouldnt
That's right. With an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, my stock pump maxes out at 60 psi (no vacuum). I have pressure set at 45 psi (under vac) and 55 psi for wot. Has worked like a champ for years. If you really think about it, a DSM doesn't come from the factory with a Walbro fuel pump to push the 450's and they run a little less fuel pressure than what I just listed. Ultimately, your tuner needs to make the call based on your injector duty cycle. Imho, you'll be fine up to 300whp give or take a bit. My car makes 245whp and 205ft.lbs. at 14 lbs. of boost with plenty of duty cycle left on the 450's. Good luck
Op. has the fuel pump in your car ever been replaced that you kno of?? If not it is probly a 20 year old fuel pump not a good idea to run it at its max that's just asking for bad things.... also if you run a walbro there is no need for a diffrent fpr the stock fpr is good till about 400hp. The way I look at is get the walbro to be safe that way you kno its new pump and you will not be running at its max and risk it taking a **** on you just my 2 cents.
