Default GSR issues...

yea so i recently did the head on my gsr and now it doesnt start. it turns over quick, sounds good, like it wants to start real bad. but it wont. dizzy is lined up, no leaks anywhere, its torqued down proper, no unusual smoke, new plugs, its gettin fuel/spark.... idk whats goin on. i aint no mechanic tho.. any ideas?? i (DONT) wanna say it could be piston/rings... but im still skeptical sayin that. tops of my pistons looked fine, as did my cylinder walls..

Verify firing order. Are the plug wires going to the right places in both the distributor and the right cylinder?

Is the mechanical timing of the cams and crank correct? Note: I did not say distributor timing.

If the 2 above checks out, do a compression check.

Bring your cylinder #1 to top dead center, then ensure that the dizzy rotor is pointing to cylinder #1 as well, it can be off 180 degrees firing at cylinder #3. Easy way to find TDC or top dead center is to remove your sparkplug on that cylinder drop a long srew driver down the hole, make sure it reaches the piston head. Then put a 19mm socket on your wrench and put that on your crank pulley bolt and turn it clockwise untill your #1 cylinder goes all the way up, and your cam gear both point at UP. At this point remove your dizzy cap, and check what cylinder is the rotor pointing at. You do know your firing order right? If not that can be your problem there...If that is the case look it up. Or if what is written on the last two lines of this post makes sense to you then great!
