i recently picked up a used tubular turbo manifold for 50 bucks couldnt pass it up for that price turns out it has a crack right where the wastegate tube meets the collector i have i mig welder at my dads shop would it be possible to fill the crack with a mig i cant tell what kind of metel the mani is but i would like to fix it myself if possible what settings should i have my welder on and how long would it hold for if it where to work

 

By the sounds of things you bought an eBay manifold. Pics of where it cracked would help too.

 

it it not as thin as an ebay one is it possible to mig it ill get a pic on soon

 

the crack is under the weld on the bottem or the waste gate tube wher it meets the collector

 

cmon 86 veiws 1 reply lol someone give me some advice even ur opinion what u would do i have my turbo on my car now with a cast manifold just waiting to uprgade turbo and down pipe so have time to fix it. id like to either fix it or bring it to someone with a tig it is close to the turbo flange

 

yes you can weld it with a mig
clean the area you want to weld
you can make a brace if you want to reinforce the part

 

that is an ebay manifold. you bought broken garbage, ouch
