Just letting all Arizona Type-R's know that there is a Pro Autosports track event at Firebird main this Saturday. I am goign to be be there for sure as well as one other Type-R. If you aren't signed up, go sign up now. http://www.proautosports.com/

If you don't want to drive, just come and watch! Event starts around 7:00 a.m. and will probably go until 5:00 p.m.

I'm going to be at this event as well. FYI, Cecil Walker (track photographer) will be present to take some action shots on the track so if a black R (syrinx?) shows up, we could get some pretty cool shots of the Rs (all colors) doing what they do best! Is there a spectator fee for the general public? I don't own an R.....nor is my LS even remotely fast enough to race w/ some of the cars pictured. But I'd like to go watch.

 

No spectator fee, totally free to come and watch.

Tony, where are you going in Indiana? Purdue?

I will try to make the ASRA event, but who knows. My tires are gonna be hurting after this weekend.

I'm dying to get on the track. I couldn't wait another week if I had to. I would probably just sneak on to Firebird at night and start driving.

 

This isn't a race event, so you don't need to worry about how you do in comparison to others.

Take your LS on the track, it's great fun.

 

i would take an automatic civic dx to the track over nothing...in fact i'd rent a NEON and go drive the **** out of it!!!

 

I'll never forget the time a guy rented a Mustang V6 for a BMW driving school.

On the skidpad, the Mustang started smoking and the rod knock could be heard from a good distance away.

Car was later returned to the rental company.

 

I tracked my 94 LS for about a half a year before I got my R. You'll be surprised at how much fun you can wring out of your car on the track. Plus, more importantly, you'll get to learn about car control in a safe environment. Come on out! You'll be hooked in no time!

I'll be there to watch in the morning as I have to work that evening. My tires are hating me after 2 straight days of racing, but did I have a great weekend
I'd love to make it to the next PIR event if you guys are up for that.

i tracked a stock ls as well... still had alot of fun in it.

 

I live in AZ, i would love to go but my rotors are warped , and my brakes are not stock. does anyone have a set of accord calipers i could use for the fastbrakes kit? edit-or ITR?

The next PIR event is held by ASRA on Oct 5 & 6th which is next weekend. I'm interested in attending that as well seeing that I've never driven on that track. I might need someone (instructor maybe?) who's familiar with that track to show me the areas to watch out for since there's nothing but walls there!! Let me know what you guys want to do.
