First post: What battery configuration
Forgive the question which could probably be answered with enough searching. I tried, honest but I'm not yet used to this site.
So...
I just bought an '88 CRX for my son to drive. It is sitting on a giant hill near the previous owner's apartment. It has two defects: the clutch is shot and the battery is completely toasted. The car starts right up with a different battery in it, but without enough juice to power the FI and a worthless clutch it won't compression start.
I'd hate to picture my coasting along side in a different car with jumper cables attached. Seems like that would be a candidate for a Darwin award.
I have a number for a guy who has tons of used batteries which he guarantees for a period of time. I've got the dimensions, CCA, etc but right now I'm at work and can't tell him what the configuration of the posts is.
Can someone out there tell me what the post config is so I can pick up a battery on the way home? It's a straight CRX with a 5 speed if that matters.
Thanks tons. Looking forward to learning everything else by surfing this forum.

Well in some cars the battery cables are long enough to just put the battery in with the posts "however" and hook it up, but I've been around plenty of cars where the cables were very short and if the positive post wasn't in the expected corner it was a no go.
If you're telling me the Honda won't care I'll just go with my gut. Thanks.
