obd2 gsr in crx wiring issues
ok so basically im swapping my obd2a gsr out of my crx si into another crx si. What it looks like to me is they used the obd2 gsr engine harness and ran it down to by the ecu. They put a obd0 to something jumper on it. now, the jumper is plugged into the obd0 clips and then there is about 5-10 wires from there that are spliced into the obd2 harness, there is no other end to the jumper harness. Then from the obd2 harness its a obd2-obd1 jumper. All this mess is hacked together! also the obd2 harness has all yellow wiring. This just seems so much more of a hastle than it should be. I want (for reliability) re wire all of this and solder everything. Ive searched and cannot find a diagram for this swap if anyone could shed some light i would greatly appreciate it. Sorry if this is confusing. Thanks
You're confusing me from your confusion!
lolz, snap some pics if you can and I can help you from there. Are you trying to run the motor obd-2 or obd-1?

Make it easy on yourself. Get a stock si harness to match your car, remove the hackjob of jumper harnesses from the car. convert it to obd1 and call it a day.
i think im going to run the other si harness with a obd0 to obd1 jumper. are the obd1 and obd2 alternator plugs the same? Its getting boosted so ill have to switch to obd1-0 injector clips anyway, and i know the dizzy wiring is easy.
the obd2 gsr harness is simular to a obd1 harness as its not one solid harness, but one main harness and another sub harness. So the big cluster F**K of mess goes from Pass side engine harness inside the cabbin then tapped into the obd0 jumper harness, then into a obd2a-obd1 jumper. And from the driver side engine harness to the *Factory crx passenger side strut tower harness, but there are a couple extended wires that run inside the cabbin and are spliced into the obd2&obd1&obd0 mess. This seems like sort of a good idea, but a hell of a rig job. I ordered a Skunk2 IM so i might do obd1 alt with a dizzy jumper and stay obd0 wiring harness with a obd0-obd1 jumper harness, unless someone can shed some serious light on this insanity!

All I got to say is wat the f**k how did that **** work in the first place. That is ghetto enginering. At its finest right there. I would just trash all that get a obd0 to obd1 jumper harness and A new dx engine harness and conevert to obd1 or stay obd2 a obd1 ecu will run obd2 dizzy and injectors
Wow that thing is a serious mess... Are there any cut wires to your original underdash harness or outside at the shock towers? If there isn't, I'd get an obd-0-->obd-1 jumper harness (I can make you one) and pick up a stock SI harness. From there you say you are going to keep obd-0 injectors or so it sounds like, so you won't need to change those plugs, just need a dizzy jumper, and extend your fan wiring from behind the block to the thermostat housing. Run the wiring from the jumper harness to the nec. components of your motor/ecu set up, and you're done with that.
lmao ive built alot of cars and seen alot of sh*t but never anything like this. The cabin and original obd0 - engine compartment is all clean nothings been hacked, i have another si harness someone hacked up but i can clean it up. Kind of wanted to use that in my other crx, the gsr donor rot box crx. However if someone can aid of de-pinning i could use a dx dpfi harness, tryed de-pinning a couple times and couldnt ever get it down. Thanks for all the input
You can't use a dx harness you're going to need to use the si harness. As I said grab a conversion adapter and stock SI engine harness there will be no need to de pin anything with the set up you are explaining everything is going to basically plug right in and you will only need to add the appropriate sensor wiring and run it to the jumper for the Gsr/ecu. If you need to know how to depin though google it I don't have any pics to show you how to do it and id only confuse you trying to explain it.
ok but where im located finding another si harness is going to be a PITA i just bought a new shell with a jdm d15b which is getting my boosted gsr. So ill be using the si harness thats in my new shell, however i still need to put the jdm d15b back into my donor car so i can sell it. Couldn't a dx harness be used with just running jumper wires from ecu for 2 more injectors? Thanks!
No using the dx harness would be a larger hassle then it is worth. I may have an si harness I will have to look through my stockpile I know I have Dpfi and obd1 harnesses but I may have sold off all my si harnesses. Lmk if you have any other questions.
My bad didn't notice it was already a si so yeah don't use the dx harness get a si harness for the most part it will be plug and play. Only extra wires you need to wire are the wires for v-tec, the iab and knock sensor

highly doubt they used a obd2 engine harness. Post pics I have to see this...
