FS in MO: 2001 Honda Insight
Selling the Insight. The car I have wanted for a little while has come up for sale and the wife said I have to get rid of cars to get this one.
2001 Honda Insight, 5 speed, AC. Monte Carlo Blue with grey/black interior
ONLY 408,000 miles on the body (car still private party books for 4k with miles)
Current maintenance:
Replaced the hybrid battery when I got the car (less than 10,000 miles ago) with a remanufactured battery from Honda. I got a deal on it and paid almost $1900 for the battery. It has a 3 year, unlimited mileage warranty.
New OEM Low Rolling Resistance tires about 5,000 miles ago
New OEM flywheel, clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and pilot bearing about 5,000 miles ago
Replaced transmission about 5,000 miles ago with one having 90,000 miles.
Aligned car about 5,000 miles ago to factory spec (0 toe for best MPG)
Replaced floor mats with newer OEM ones about 3,000 miles ago
Replaced rear engine mount and driver side trans mount. Have passenger mount but have not installed.
New OEM water pump, accessory drive belt, and tensioner.
Car runs and drives great. When it was hot out this summer, I got 76.6 mpg driving from here to Iowa City and back. I regularly get 65-70 mpg with the car in the summer. During the winter, mileage drops to 55-60 mpg on the highway. I made a radiator block from coroplast that blocks approximately 30% of the radiator for winter. City driving, I get around 60-65 mpg in the summer and 53-57 in the winter.
Extra parts for car:
I bought an extra set of door panels as the driver side was a little dirty when I got it.
I bought another OEM floor carpet for the car but have not installed it
I bought another console and some other interior pieces as I wanted to mount a couple switches for IMA (Hybrid) disable and for forced full recharge.
A complete engine with 90,000 miles, the engine harness, and all 3 computers.
Everything I have for the car comes with it.
The car will probably need the oil pan gasket replaced as it is seeping a little bit. Does not lose enough oil to add between changes but it is there. Engine light is also on right now for rear O2 sensor heater. Does not affect gas mileage so I have not done anything about it. Car really needs nothing as all is current maintenance wise.
$4000. That is what it books for WITHOUT all of the maintenance current and hybrid battery being new.

Best trip so far:

Typical highway driving, running the AC:

UP. Trade for 99-00 Civic EX 4 door 5 speed in silver or black ONLY and grey interior only. Must be in excellent condition. May also consider trading for a Honda CRV (no green or red) AWD, auto or 5 speed. Not interested in cars with rust.
Actually, I typed it wrong. Actually went to the odometer portion of the FCD today and was pleasantly surprised that the car actually only has 406,XXX miles on it (Yes, four-hundred six thousand miles)
