Icon2 car shut off outta nowhere now no spark

hey ht im stumped here.. i have a eg hatch with an 98 ls (b18b1) .. i was tapping off my new radiator so i turnt my car on for maybe 5 mins and then i retapped it and before i turnt the car back on i did a quick comprassion check.. everything came out good on a cold motor but then i put everything back together turnd the car on again with no problem and she died maybe 30 secs later..

the car turns over but not on ..... so i retraced all my steps made sure the spark plug wires were in the right order from a diagram off google and then i check if it was given spark so i put the spark plug to the valve cover and no spark ..

im just a starter at all this stuff but i kno maybe i got a bad connection somewhere thats not given the wires electricty to spark the plugs thats my guess but i just dnt kno where to look .. can anyone help me please this is my dd

when you did your compression test, did you unplug the connectors going to the dizzy?

not doing so will make your dizzy continue to fire the spark plugs and if you took the spark plugs out, the voltage has no where to go,

odds are you fried your ignition coil or ICM or both

Does the fuel pump also fail to prime?

I've done this before. Pricey mistake.

For future reference, unplug the dizzy plugs before doing a compression test.

Yep, as others said, the coil is blown. You can verify by resistance testing it.

Replace the coil, I did that a while back. Lucky I had an extra in the parts bin.

something like... 70 bucks at autozone
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...mString=search

all 88-2001 Civic/Integra coils will work.

look bro, I think your coil in your current distrib is bad. so get that distrib from your friend and swap coils... then give it a try, it's that simple.

if you do a compression test or crank the motor over for prolonged times, just pull the ecu fuse under the hood

are you getting fuel? could also be a bad main relay... no spark+no fuel=main relay

i was driving down the road and my car shut off...had a used and old high perf. coil (Accel) and the spring somehow unwound itsself. replaced it with an O'reilly part and worked like new with lifetime warranty but im getting another Accel coil but brand new this time, from O'reilly. 1 year warranty for like 55$. car ran so much smoother with that coil. id say go with that. BUT mine is a single slammer...dunno if it makes a difference

i put the distributor back in the car , spark plugs are right ( i believe so ) i more then tripled check but now it bogs when my foot is on the pedal between 2 and 3 grand , i almost have to put the pedal to the fire wall to get it really moving .. and my idile is messd up .. i think i needa fix the timing on the distirbutor but idk how ... someone helppp
