96 accord with h22a1 no spark
whats up guys as tittle states i got a 96 accord ex i swapped a 93 h22a1 into it but cant get it to spark.i used a 96 dx harness with external coil i got a obd2 external coil h22 dizzy im runing a obd1 h22 ecu with jumper harness.i got no idea of what else it could be i checked all fuses and everythings ok.if youve done a h22 into a 96 accord before can you please give me your input like what harness to use ect .thanx in advance
well the obd1 h22 dizzy your using has the crank sensor feed in the distributor, and the harness your using has the cranks sensor wired up to the oil pump area where the obd2 have the crank sensor, you have to wire up to dizzy so you have a crank signal to fire the plugs. if this is already done. double check your wiring job
^^ That's what you should do with the stock harness when doing an H swap. I'm not familiar with external coil distributors though; I have always been internal since it's much cleaner.
the obd1 hmotors have the crank sensor signal through the dizzy, so if you didn't plug in anything around your oil pump area your not getting a signal with an obd2 dizzy

if the ecu doesn't see the crank signal = no sparky, your going to have to wire your crank wire to your dizzy, or buy a new obd2 oil pump and crank sensor which is quite the job. but since your dizzy is obd2 you would have to buy and obd1 dizzy. i would by an obd1 dizzy and wire it up much less labor and probably just as much if not cheaper then buying and oil pump and crank sensor. if you want the schematics let me know. I fix hondas for a living, i have all the info you'll need
thanks guys for your help so heres the latest i switched my dizzy from obd2 to obd1 that uses internal coil and wired in the crank sensor into the dizzy using a print out i got off a site so now im still not getting spark or fuel i checked the relay and all fuses and everythings ok i got two grounds to i need more also im using a auto harness would that affect it as my cars manual.thank you in advance
Hey I have your solution , first of your car is a 96 which has a crank sensor mounted on the oil pump ,, when you changed to an obd1 you eliminated your crank sensor .... basically either use the obd1 dizzy with obd1 ecu or install the crank sensor on the pump and use your stock 96 ecu and dizzy....................................L-vtec
do you have any cels, check your main harness grounds. if all that is good.I would try hooking your stock ecu you up, it if runs then you've got your problem, either the jumper harness is garbage or your ecu is.
fuel issue my jumper harness was a lil pulled back so ecu wasnt reading right spark issue was in my dizzy wiring i mistaked two wires but now itll get spark and fuel but will keep turning over and wnt start
If you have spark and fuel and it won't start, it is more than likely a timing issue. Check the firing order of your plugs (1-3-4-2) and also the condition of your rotor/cap and strength of your coil.
