Default Turbo for 96-98 Civic

I know you can use the 92-95 greddy kit in the 96-98 civic but when you put that in do you have to remove a/c or anything like that to make it fit or will it fit without any mods?

Complete bolt in as long as you dont have a D16y7 motor(then youll have to modify the charge pipe to fit).

or, if you have a D16Y7, you can get a Y8 manifold..

But then you have to get the Y8 throttle body and IACV (which is compeltely different in how it works and interacts with the ECU), and once you do that you're in for a bit of work. Better off getting an extra 90 degree bend to make the piping fit the Y7.

Why do you need the IACV, and throttle body? I have a y8 mani on my y7 and I use the y7 throttle body, the IACV is built in on it. all you need is a Y8 manifold and the y7 throttle body w/ a the y8 throttle body plate. That simple.

I'd like to see how you hooked up that TB and IACV. When I was installing the Y8 head/intake the Y7 TB rotates a different direction since it's downdraft whereas the Y8 is sidedraft, so I can't see how it would work (not saying it doesn't since you just said you're running it, but I could not figure it out). That's why I ended up swapping in the EX ECU and all that.

It doesnt work period. Totally different design and one is 3 wire and the other is 2 wire so the ecu wont like it very much.

I know that, but he's saying all he swapped was the intake manifold and re-used the Y7 tb and iacv which would work if the rotor on the Y7 tb would turn the right way once mounted sideways.

i will post pics up tonight, i have to go to work right now....

Yes, if you reuse the y7 throttle body, then you need to swap the spring and plate from a y8 trottle body, so the throttle cable will work perfectly.

here are a few pics....

i reused the y7 throttle body, but i took the spring and plate off of the y8 throttle body and put that on the y7. it now rotates exactly like the full y8 throttle body, only using the y7....get me?

the only problem I am running into(not really a problem but...) is the throttle cable. It is now too long, I'm sure you have the same problem...

I am also going to be doing a y8 head swap, so I prolly be asking you a few questions and such...

Also, did you ever decide on what springs setup you were going to get...i know you weren't happy w/ the prokit of neuspeed....let me know
