Icon6 Car won't start-I think I found the problem but..

So I tried to turn on my car and nothing happened. Car didn't even crank, it was like turning the key without pressing in the clutch. Figured out there was a loose wire near the starter running down from the red wire of the battery. Could this be the problem? If it is where does it plug into?

There should be a big wire and a thin wire on the starter. Make sure both are there and take the power cable off the battery before you start or you will get shocked lol.

my car is doing the same thing but instead of a loose wire the plastic part
of the starter near those wires are broke, will this prevent my car from starting.
I also tried jump starting it, an nothing all, lights come on but doesn't dim, when turning ignition in the start position.

to the starter, that lil plastic piece just fell onto the floor, I just lol'd.

wow to my amazement even though that plastic piece fell off my starter it still works lol i took it to autozone the tech told me to glue it back on.
found the problem, basically the ground wire shorted, when the ground on the driver side engine mount, got fused to the clutch cable, while i was checking the starter wires, i 4 got to take off the fireshield, on the ground wire for starter, so to make a long story short, the middle section of this wire, was completely fried, and had lots of green corrosion, i bent this wire, and it just crumbled to the floor lol.
I just finished installing a new ground wire for the starter, and it started right up, BTW i noticed the car cranks a whole lot faster now.
