Icon2 Noob A/T DC5 Mod Questions

Hi,

I have a 2005 A/T(Tiptronic) DC5 Type-S and i'd like to mod it. What are the stuff i could put in it to increase performance?

First off, i'm thinking of putting in a Cold Air Intake, Headers and new Exhaust System and eventually i'd like to put in a turbo kit. but i'm not really sure whether that's possible. I've read online that if i put in a turbo kit, I'd have to change my ECU as well. i don't think that the Hondata K-Pro ECU works for a A/T. Is a turbo kit possible for me or should i just give up and keep it NA

I'd appreciate your inputs about this, as you have already noticed i'm a total noob with car mods.

Cheers!!

i dont think kpro works with a/t unfortunatly. i would just keep it simple and get the intake, exhaust. i would say get the reflash but i dont think they make an a/t type-s reflash. do the auto type-s's over there have the k20z3 or the z1?

haha they don't make an automatic Type-S. The Type-S only comes in 6spd here

hmmmmm, very interesting, I guess it's possible, but involves much research and some modifications. But I think I'll stick to NA Setup for now.

One more thought, Greddy makes a piggyback engine management system, "E-manage Ultimate" if i'm not mistaken. couldn't I use that along with my stock ECU.

Thanks!!

Yes, this is also a great option. Lots of people bash E-manage but that's only because they don't have any experience with it.

I used to have Greddy e-manage on my turbo'd DC2 and it worked flawlessly for years.

It's also 1/3 the price of Hondata.

ok, so that gives me an window of possibility on turboing by DC5.

Now what about the tranny, will it last?? I have a friend in Vegas who turboed his scion A/T, but I haven't able to talk since last year. Im not really sure if his tranny last.

Sorry I'm such a noob

Thanks!!
