Default Should I wait?

So now that my Si is running good again I'm going to start slowly moding it. I wanted to get a new exhaust system for it thinking it's not a huge investment and worth getting. But hopefully next year I'm gonna get a turbo kit for it.

If I do get a turbo kit later on would I still be able to use that aftermarket exhaust system which would be 60mm or would I need to buy the 70-85mm exahust system?

Thanks

Personally, I would wait until you got that turbo kit installed. But that would be up to you. You definitely don't want to get an exhaust that's too small for the turbo once it's on.

Just wait till you get the turbo on there. Then go to a muffler shop and have them weld together some 3'' mandrel bends. If they have a mandrel bender, have them bend it for you. Most exhaust shops dont have one, though. Use whatever muffler you want.

If you have a 3'' catback exhaust on an NA car, it's going to sound like ****...and be VERY loud.

Some people get the turbo exhaust because they swear up and down they're gonna turbo their cars...then never end up getting a turbo.

I bought a GT spec (3.75'' piping) for my S13 a month before dropping in my SR20DET because the exhaust was on sale. The car was motherfreaking LOUD!!!

They do make GT specs for civics now. But the muffler shop exhaust will do the job.

Wait or spend money twice.

Just buy the 60mm cat back, and upgrade when you turbo. Don't slam it all over the ground, and sell it. You'll lose some money, but not much

alright thanks for the advice.

And B serious you said that some people get turbo exhuast without turbo? What would that do to a non-turbo car?

Nothing. Some people just buy into the "bigger is better" theory. Others THINK for sure that they're going to get a turbo. In the end, they figure out that they can't afford it (it costs a shitload of money...some fools get tricked into thinking you can get out of it for $2-3k without hookups or knowhow). Or they end up having other priorities.

They buy the exhaust thinking that they're getting a turbo....but never end up following through. Get what I'm sayin?

Ya I understand. But I don't get the down side to buying the turbo exahust even if you end up not getting turbo. Is it more $?

It may be more $ because it's bigger. It will also do nothing for your car NA. It will be loud as freak. Those are all downsides.

Your car MAY end up making less power than before, BTW. Good exhausts are usally engineered to make power in a certain application. That's why you dont see many B series running around with 3'' exhausts NA.

It's useless.
